Chemo 2, Day 1

Chemo went very fast today - only 1.5 hours. Because I had no allergic reactions last time with the one drug that they dripped very slowly, they were able to speed it up.

So far I only have a sore throat - not sure where that came from - and a slight headache. I'm doing my best to stay awake after the anti-nausea and anti-allergic meds they give.

Praying and believing for an easy, breezy, non-existant side effect days to follow!

  2. Hi Renee,
Chemo gives you superpowers. You may or may not be aware of this. Just thought you'd like to know.

  3. Renee, I've found that sucking on butterscotch candies seems to help the metallic taste and the soreness of my throat. Try a Hall's cough drop if that doesn't work.

Hot tea, cocoa with marshmallows (my savior since my coffee tastes like dreck!) Lot of fluids honey!!

And your headache, I'm the queen of headaches. Grab a bag of frozen veggies and gently place it on your head. It really helps.

I'm just flushed and sleepy here. Tummy is a little unsettled but praying my new drugs can hang in there.

BIG Xs and Os to you!!

  4. I am glad to hear that the infusion didn't take as long this time and hopefully whatever side effects (hopefully few!) you do have will pass just as quickly.

    Big huggles.. see you soon!
